## Synopsis

Madan Senki Ryukendo (2006) is a Japanese tokusatsu superhero series created by Oji Hiroi, Takeshi Yoshida, Yuichiro Hira and Yuzuru Moriuchi and broadcast on TV Aichi and TV Tokyo. Set in the peaceful, crowded community of Akebono City, it follows Kenji Narukami, a young swordsman trained in the Narukami Dragon God Style, who arrives in town to fight demons and is transformed into the hero RyuKenDo. Alongside friends in a secret protection squad hidden inside the ordinary Akebono Police Station, he battles the demon army Jamanga, which harvests Minus Energy from frightened citizens for a sinister purpose. The engine is simple and episodic in feel: each week the team must stop a fresh threat while the city's magical Power Spot keeps drawing danger. The single season of 52 episodes runs as an earnest, colorful action adventure with a heroic, hopeful register and a strong sense of friendship and loyalty. Fans of Kamen Rider Kuuga, Power Rangers and Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger will find familiar transformation-hero energy here.
