## Synopsis

Fred and Rose West (2025) is a British true crime documentary miniseries produced for Netflix and built from police recordings and first-person accounts. Across three episodes of roughly fifty-three minutes each, the series returns to the case of Fred and Rose West, a couple whose crimes made them among the most prolific murderers in the United Kingdom. Rather than reenactment, the format leans on recently discovered interview tapes and the couple's own archive appearances, so viewers hear the perpetrators speak in their own voices while investigators and the facts of the case are laid out. The engine of each episode is the slow accumulation of evidence and the unsettling distance between what the couple said and what the investigation uncovered. The tone is grim, sober and deliberately unflinching, with a documentary pace that favors testimony over spectacle. Fans of Making a Murderer, The Jinx and Mindhunter will find resonance in its focus on real offenders, archival interrogation material and the dark psychology behind serial killing. Because it deals with real victims and abuse, it is a demanding watch that rewards full attention and a strong stomach for true crime.
