## Synopsis

Mentiras, the Series (2025) is a Mexican comedic soap opera miniseries created by Gabriel Ripstein and released on Prime Video. After Emmanuel Mijares (Luis Gerardo Méndez) dies, four women, Daniela (Belinda), Dulce (Diana Bovio), Lupita (Mariana Treviño) and Yuri (Regina Blandón), are summoned to a mysterious mansion where they must spend time together. The engine of the story is the friction among them: each woman is hiding years-old lies, and the tensions between them ignite quickly as those secrets threaten to surface. Across eight episodes of roughly thirty-six minutes each, the narrative moves between sharp confrontations and quieter moments in which the characters begin to question themselves and reflect on their choices. The setting is contemporary urban Mexico, and the series is built around a single gathering in a single house. Its tone blends telenovela melodrama with wry, self-aware comedy and a warmer, reflective undertone. Viewers who enjoy Big Little Lies, Velvet and Lo que la vida me robó will find a similar mix of rivalry, buried secrets and ensemble female friction. It is a short, self-contained limited series that rewards a single sitting and an audience drawn to character-driven soap.
