## Synopsis

The Game (2025-present) is a British crime thriller series created by Tom Grieves. Retired detective Inspector Huw Miller (Jason Watkins) is haunted by memories of a failed arrest that allowed the Ripton Stalker to remain free, and his unease sharpens when his enigmatic new neighbour Patrick Harbottle (Robson Green) begins to look like more than a quiet newcomer. Miller's family life, including his daughter Margot (Indy Lewis) and his wife Alice (Sunetra Sarker), is strained as he pursues his suspicions on his own terms. The engine of the show is a single rising question: whether the man next door is connected to the stalking case that Miller never closed. Episodes build quietly through surveillance, old case files, and small domestic moments that turn sinister, rather than through procedural set pieces. The series runs across two seasons of eight episodes in total, with a continuing story and a tense, paranoid tone. Its atmosphere is grounded and unsettling, with a slow burn of dread in ordinary English streets. Fans of Line of Duty, Unforgotten and The Fall will find resonance in its British cold case mood and its psychological menace.
