## Synopsis

Sara - Woman in the Shadows (2025) is an Italian crime mystery series created by Carmine Elia and produced by Palomar for Netflix. Teresa Saponangelo plays Sara, a former secret agent whose son's suspicious death pulls her back into dangerous investigative work. Claudia Gerini appears as Teresa, and Flavio Furno as Pardo, with Massimo Popolizio as Corrado Lembo and Antonio Gerardi as Tarallo rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the show is a grieving mother's refusal to accept an official story, as she follows a chain of crimes that grows more sinister with each episode and pulls her into a world of old contacts and new threats. The season unfolds as a single six-episode arc of roughly fifty-three minutes each, a contained serialized thriller rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its Italian crime drama tradition gives it a gritty, shadowed texture, with a tense, brooding tone and a steady focus on the cost of private vengeance. Fans of Gomorra, Suburra and Taken will find resonance in its blend of street-level menace, a determined lead, and a conspiracy that keeps tightening around her.
