## Synopsis

The Sparkle in Your Eye (2025) is a Singaporean and Chinese co-produced miniseries created for GagaOOLala. Its twelve half-hour episodes follow Pei Jia (Chen Yesheng), an actor trying to restart his career after a scandal, as he clashes and then falls for his rookie co-star Su Yi (Huang Xiao) on the set of a first series. Their relationship must stay hidden while Pei Jia fights to protect both their futures, and the story's engine is the pressure of a damaged reputation and a secret romance pulling against one another. The first half traces their wary friendship turning into romance, and the later episodes turn to a producer who begins blackmailing them, forcing them to decide how far they will go to keep their bond. The show is built around intimate scenes, emotional confrontations and strong performances, giving it an angst-heavy, tender and sometimes harrowing tone. Its setting is the contemporary Chinese-speaking entertainment industry, with its studios, screenwriting rooms and press pressure. Fans of Sweet Dream Pastry Chef, Love Is Sweet and Eternity Love will find resonance in its sincere queer romance, showbiz backdrop and emotional stakes, though its ending is more bittersweet than triumphant.
