## Synopsis

Mr. Scorsese (2025) is a US documentary miniseries presented by Apple TV, a five-episode portrait of director Martin Scorsese told largely through his own intimate interviews and access to his private archives. Scorsese himself is the central figure, with collaborators and fellow filmmakers including Robert De Niro, Steven Spielberg, Thelma Schoonmaker, Paul Schrader, and Brian De Palma reflecting on his work, while actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, and Daniel Day-Lewis also appear in conversation. Rather than a conventional case-of-the-week or dramatized story, the series is built from interview passages woven with home footage, old film clips, and archival material, moving through the many phases of a career that reshaped American cinema. Its engine is curiosity about how a filmmaker's personal history becomes his art, and each episode lingers on memory, craft, obsession, and the people who shared the work. The tone is reflective, warm, and admiring, with a contemplative pace that rewards viewers who already love movies. Fans of The Story of Film: An Odyssey and Hitchcock/Truffaut will find resonance here, as will anyone drawn to celebrity interviews about the making of classic films. It is a single-season limited run of five roughly fifty-minute episodes, suited to attentive viewing.
