## Synopsis

Reykjavik 112 (2025-present) is an Icelandic crime drama series created by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir for Sjónvarp Símans. Detective Huldar (Kolbeinn Arnbjörnsson) is assigned a brutal murder in which a woman is killed in front of her young daughter, the only witness, who has been left mute by the trauma. To reach the girl's buried memories, Huldar must work with child psychologist Freyja (Vivian Ólafsdóttir), a woman he recently had an awkward date with, and the two are forced into an uneasy collaboration. The engine of the story is a race against time: a tangle of perplexing clues, a traumatized child who cannot speak, and a killer who strikes again while staying dangerously close. Told across a single six-episode season of roughly 43 minutes each, the series builds a steady, cold, procedural dread shaped by the city's chilly streets and the quiet pressure of an investigation that cannot wait. Its tone is bleak and suspenseful, with a restrained emotional core. Fans of nordic noir such as The Killing and The Bridge, and of Scandinavian procedurals like Trapped, will find resonance in its icy atmosphere and character-driven investigation.
