## Synopsis

Cinderella Closet (2025) is a Japanese romance drama series created by Wakana Yanai for TBS, running a single season of twelve roughly twenty-minute episodes. A small-town college student, Haruka Fukunaga (Ichika Osaki), arrives in the city and teams up with Hikaru Kamiyama (Leo Matsumoto), a beauty school student who crosses dressing boundaries, to explore fashion, self-presentation and the slow shaping of their own identities. Their collaboration, built around clothes, styling and the question of how people choose to be seen, gradually turns into friendship and then something more tender. Supporting characters including Shu Kiriya (Karuma), Mio Suzuki (Yuna Mito), Keisuke Kurotaki (Rintaro Hachimura) and Asuka Nakamura (Kei Yamazaki) widen the circle of friends, rivals and admirers around them. The engine of the series is personal growth rather than spectacle: each episode is built from small creative projects, everyday city encounters and conversations about confidence and belonging. Set in contemporary urban Japan, the show carries a warm, gentle and hopeful atmosphere, reimagining the Cinderella fairytale so that transformation comes from within rather than from being chosen. Viewers who enjoy Hana Yori Dango, Given and light fairytale retellings will find resonance in its romance and self-acceptance.
