## Synopsis

The Others (2000) is an American supernatural mystery series created by Michael Ferris and John Brancato for NBC. Produced by DreamWorks Television and NBC Studios, it follows a group of people with varied psychic talents who come together as they encounter different, and often evil, paranormal forces. Julianne Nicholson plays Marian Kitt, with Gabriel Macht as Dr. Mark Gabriel, Missy Crider as Ellen Polaski, Bill Cobbs as Elmer Greentree, and John Billingsley as Prof. Miles Ballard among the principal cast. The series is an ensemble show built around its characters' unusual abilities, and each episode turns on a new supernatural menace that tests their trust in one another and in their gifts. It ran for a single season of thirteen episodes before its cancellation, so its storytelling stays focused on individual encounters rather than a long arc. The tone leans toward eerie and suspenseful, with a sense of dread around the unseen forces the group must face. Viewers who enjoy The X-Files and Sleepy Hollow will find a similar appetite for paranormal investigation and psychic mystery in this early network sci-fi drama.
