## Synopsis

Love Sea: The Home for Lovers (2025) is a Japanese romance drama miniseries created by MAME for Fuji TV. Based on a novel, it follows romance novelist Ai Rakumoto, played by Shun Nishime, who meets the free-spirited islander Kaishin Muto, played by Masato Kunigami, during a stay on a remote island. Their unexpected encounter stirs feelings Ai cannot quite ignore, and the story unfolds across twelve half-hour episodes that move between the island and the city. Supporting cast includes Mizuho Habu as Himeka Ui, Asuka Kawazu as Fumi Ogura, Taiki Sawada as Kōya Niiba and Yurina Yanagi as Ren Rakumoto. The drama is a quiet, emotionally observant romance, built on the contrast between a reserved writer and a carefree local and on the slow accumulation of small moments. Its tone is wistful and tender, with a melancholic undercurrent and a sense of longing rooted in place. Its shape is a single self-contained miniseries rather than an ongoing run. Viewers who enjoy the gentle longing of Heartstopper or the seaside atmosphere of a slow-burn romance will find resonance here, and the series also sits within the Japanese boys love and girls love tradition.
