## Synopsis

Mobile Suit Gundam (1979-1980) is a Japanese animated real robot series created by Yoshiyuki Tomino for Nagoya TV, a Sunrise production and a foundational entry in the shonen mecha tradition. Teenager Amuro Ray (voiced by Toru Furuya) is a civilian whose life is shattered when war reaches his home, and during the chaos he climbs into the Earth Federation's secret prototype mobile suit, the Gundam, and somehow gets it working. His goal is survival for himself and the refugees around him, and the obstacles come from every direction: an enemy ace pilot, Char Aznable (voiced by Shuichi Ikeda), a hostile military, and the constant danger of combat.
