## Synopsis

Cooper & Fry (2025) is a British crime mystery series created by Caroline Ip and Ben Court. Set in the mystery-shrouded Peak District of England, it follows affable local detective Ben Cooper, played by Robert James-Collier, and guarded newcomer Diane Fry, played by Mandip Gill. The two are thrown together to investigate a string of mysterious deaths, and their methods clash as they struggle to get results. Their working relationship is tested as their personal lives begin to intertwine, and the investigation pulls them into the moorland countryside and the small communities around it. Supporting characters include Lorcan Cranitch as DI Paul Hitchens, Barry O'Connor as DS Todd Eland, and Clara Simpson as Dr Juliana Taylor. The series is a single season of four ninety-minute episodes, built around a case-driven structure in which each investigation deepens the partners' bond. Its tone is measured and atmospheric, with a brooding sense of place and a quiet emotional undercurrent. Adapted from a novel, it carries the feel of a moody British detective drama. Fans of Shetland, Happy Valley and Vera will find resonance in its rural atmosphere, its odd-couple partnership and its patient, character-led investigations.
