## Synopsis

The Brady Bunch (1969-1974) is an American network family sitcom created by Sherwood Schwartz for ABC. Widower Mike Brady (Robert Reed) marries widow Carol Brady (Florence Henderson), and their two households merge into one busy suburban home with six children, a dog named Tiger, and a quirky housekeeper, Alice Nelson (Ann B. Davis). The engine of the show is the everyday friction of blending families: the Brady kids, including Marcia (Maureen McCormick), Greg (Barry Williams), Peter (Christopher Knight), Jan (Eve Plumb), Cindy (Susan Olsen) and Bobby (Mike Lookinland), compete for attention, trade schemes and get tangled in small misunderstandings that a parent must untangle before dinner. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week built around a minor crisis, so the viewer can drop in anywhere. Across five seasons and 117 episodes the series keeps a steady, cheerful register, sunny and cozy with gentle sarcasm and warm parental reassurance. Its look is bright 1970s suburban California domesticity. Fans of The Partridge Family, Eight Is Enough and The Wonder Years will find the same blend of wholesome comedy and family affection.
