## Synopsis

Kyle XY (2006-2009) is an American science fiction family drama created by J. Mackye Gruber and Eric Bress for ABC Family. Matt Dallas plays Kyle Trager, a naive teenager with no memories and no belly button, who is taken in by a suburban family in Seattle. Marguerite MacIntyre and Bruce Thomas play his adoptive parents Nicole and Stephen Trager, while Chris Olivero plays Declan McDunaugh, a figure tied to the secret organization pursuing answers about Kyle's origin. The engine of the series is the family's mission to solve the mystery of Kyle's origin and abilities while he learns how ordinary people behave and why he is being hunted. Episodes mix domestic scenes of a household adjusting to an outsider with investigative threads about a secret experiment. The show spans three seasons and forty-three episodes, with a serialized arc rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is earnest and curious, with a suburban warmth undercut by paranoia and wonder. Fans of Smallville and Heroes will find resonance in its teen sci-fi premise and hidden-origin mystery.
