## Synopsis

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1979-1980) is a Japanese anime series created for Teletama and Fuji TV, produced by Toei Animation and based on the Arthurian legend. The series follows King Arthur and his knightly companions from the court of Camelot as they take up quests, face rival warriors, sorcery, and perilous journeys across a legendary medieval landscape. Voice cast includes Makio Inoue, Akira Kamiya, and Keiko Han, who appear across all of its fifty-two episodes spread over two seasons of roughly twenty-six minutes each. Rather than a single continuous mystery, the story moves through episodic adventures that build the legend of the Round Table, with each quest testing loyalty, courage, and honor. The tone is earnest and heroic, with a classic chivalric warmth suited to younger viewers and fans of old-fashioned animated fantasy. Its look reflects late seventies Japanese television animation, with bold color and storybook spectacle. Fans of The Sword in the Stone and Gawain and the Green Knight will find resonance in its medieval romance, noble heroism, and the enduring appeal of the Arthurian world.
