## Synopsis

The Lucy Show (1962-1968) is an American multi-camera sitcom created by Bob Weiskopf, Bob Schiller, Bob Carroll Jr., and Madelyn Pugh for CBS. Lucille Ball plays Lucy Carmichael, a scheming single mother raising her children Chris and Jerry in New York City, with Gale Gordon as the pompous Theodore J. Mooney and Vivian Vance as her neighbor Vivian Bagley in the early seasons. Each episode is built from a small domestic plan that spirals into escalating mishaps, the kind of schemes that turn an ordinary errand into chaos. The show spans six seasons and 156 episodes, and it follows the classic studio-audience sitcom tradition that Ball had already perfected on I Love Lucy. Its tone is breezy, warm, and farcical, with slapstick timing and a comfortable domestic register. The format is episodic, so each half hour stands alone. Fans of I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch and The Mary Tyler Moore Show will find a similar pleasure in the comic energy and the mother-centered household.
