## Synopsis

Nightmares of Nature (2025) is a two-season American documentary docuseries produced for Netflix, with Blumhouse Television and Plimsoll Productions among its production companies. Narrated by Maya Hawke, the six forty-four-minute episodes follow the animal world from the perspective of its prey, turning hunts, chases and ambushes into compact survival tales. Each episode is built from wildlife footage that tracks a vulnerable creature as it tries to outwit or outrun the predators around it, so the engine is simple and immediate: will the hunted escape. The format is an anthology of self-contained stories rather than one continuing plot, with the narration framing each sequence as a small drama of fear and endurance. The mood leans toward suspense and dread, with dark beauty in the landscapes and an unsettling sense that the natural world is always close to violence. Its blend of nature documentary craft and horror-tinged storytelling makes it a fit for viewers who enjoy wildlife programs like Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II, or who want a scarier, more suspenseful take on the natural world. Season one is rated more highly than season two by audiences.
