## Synopsis

The Journey to Killing You (2025-present) is a Japanese Fuji TV crime drama series streaming on FOD, based on a manga and adapted with a boys love sensibility. Kinji Kataoka is a vengeful yakuza ordered to guard and secretly kill his underboss, Ren Odajima, a figure he swore to destroy. The engine is a standoff of loyalty and revenge pulled against a growing attachment, with each episode built around the pressure of the assignment and the threat of rival factions in the underworld. Supporting players help drive the rivalries and shifting alliances that surround the pair. The series runs over two seasons of thirty-minute episodes, with the second season continuing the same arc. Its setting is a present-day Japanese yakuza milieu, rendered with a brooding, tense atmosphere and intimate, emotionally charged moments. Tone blends propulsive crime tension with quiet romantic longing. Fans of Breaking Bad and Hannibal will find resonance in its morally compromised protagonist and simmering, dangerous intimacy.
