## Synopsis

Touched by an Angel (1994-2003) is an American family drama created by John Masius for CBS. Roma Downey plays Monica, an angel sent to earth with messages from God, while Della Reese plays her supervisor Tess, and John Dye appears as Andrew, a fellow angel who joins the assignments. Each episode follows a different person standing at a crossroads, such as someone facing grief, illness, a broken relationship, or a crisis of faith, and the angels appear in human form to offer encouragement and guidance. The engine of the series is the weekly encounter: a stranger's trouble is brought to the angels, who must find the right words and small acts of kindness to steer them toward hope. Across nine seasons and 211 episodes, the show is a case-of-the-week format rather than one continuing story, with recurring characters providing a steady throughline. Set in contemporary America, it has a gentle, sincere, comforting register, with its spirituality and friendship foregrounded. Viewers who enjoy Highway to Heaven and Seventh Heaven will find similar warmth and moral reflection in its inspirational vision of faith.
