## Synopsis

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003-2009) is an American animated action adventure series created by Lloyd Goldfine for FOX and The CW. Four pet turtles mutated by alien ooze, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael, are raised in New York City sewers by their wise sensei, Master Splinter, and train in ninjutsu to stop crime in all its forms. Voiced by Michael Sinterniklaas as Leonardo, Wayne Grayson as Michelangelo, Sam Riegel as Donatello, and Gregory Abbey as Raphael, the brothers face street gangs, lowlife crooks and deranged cyborgs, with the crime syndicate The Foot and their leader The Shredder (voiced by Scott Rayow) as their recurring archrival. April O'Neil (Veronica Taylor) assists them in the city above. Running seven seasons and 154 episodes, it is a mostly episodic cartoon with season-long threads, built around stealth, weapons and fights that feel cheerful and kid friendly. Its tone is breezy and playful, with a heroic sense of loyalty and brotherhood at the center. Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Batman: The Animated Series and Samurai Jack will find a similar appeal in its martial arts action and family bonds, and the sewer and rooftop world stays lively throughout.
