## Synopsis

Huff (2004-2006) is an American cable dark comedy drama series created by Bob Lowry for Showtime. Hank Azaria stars as Dr. Craig Huffstodt, a successful Los Angeles psychiatrist and devoted family man whose orderly life begins to crack after a tragedy with one of his patients. Paget Brewster plays his wife Beth, and Oliver Platt appears as Russell Tupper, adding a sharp counterweight to the household chaos. Anton Yelchin, Blythe Danner and Faith Prince fill out the crowded household and professional circle. The engine of the show is Craig's struggle to keep his practice, marriage and children from falling apart as his own judgment becomes suspect. Each episode mixes clinical sessions with domestic friction, finding absurdity and discomfort in the gap between how Craig treats others and how he handles his own life. The series ran for two seasons across 26 episodes before its cancellation, and its tone is caustic, intimate and frequently uncomfortable. Fans of In Treatment, Nurse Jackie and Weeds will find resonance in its blend of bleak humor, adult candor and fractured middle-class domestic life.
