## Synopsis

My Secret Identity (1988-1991) is a Canadian children's superhero series created by Chuck Lorre and Brian Levant for CTV. Starring Jerry O'Connell as Andrew Clements, a teenager who becomes a costumed hero while keeping his ordinary life a secret, the show follows his efforts to protect people in his town while managing school, family, and friends. Derek McGrath also appears in a principal role. Each episode is largely self-contained, built around a case or threat that Andrew must stop before anyone notices his double life. Running three seasons and seventy-two episodes, the series mixes light action with gentle comedy and wholesome family moral lessons. Its tone is breezy and earnest, suited to younger viewers and to family viewing. Its premise places it in the tradition of secret identity adventures, and fans of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and The Greatest American Hero will find a similar mix of costumed heroics and everyday comedy. The series is set in a contemporary North American town and reflects late eighties children's programming.
