## Synopsis

Knight Rider (1982-1986) is an American network action series created by Glen A. Larson for NBC. David Hasselhoff stars as Michael Knight, an undercover police officer left for dead who is given a new face and identity by the wealthy inventor Wilton Knight. Michael is assigned a computerized, indestructible car called KITT, voiced by William Daniels, and the two take on criminals beyond the reach of the law on behalf of the Foundation for Law and Government. Edward Mulhare plays Devon Miles, the foundation's stern and polished director who oversees their missions, while Rebecca Holden and Patricia McPherson round out the team as colleagues in the field. The engine of each episode is a new case: a villain, a scheme, and a chase in which KITT's gadgets and driving prowess carry the day.
