## Synopsis

The Legend of Tarzan (2001-2003) is an American animated family adventure series created by Bill Motz and Bob Roth for UPN, produced by Disney Television Animation. It picks up after the 1999 feature film. Tarzan, now leader of the apes after Kerchak's death, shares his jungle home with Jane Porter, who is adjusting to life far from civilization. Jane's father, Professor Archimedes Porter, adds bookish worry and comic fuss, while Tantor, a germophobic elephant, and Terk, a wisecracking female gorilla and Tarzan's old wrestling buddy, supply much of the humor. Each episode is built around small jungle problems, friendships among animals, and the balance between wild instincts and human ways. The tone is warm, playful and gently adventurous, with light peril and plenty of banter. Its African jungle setting is rendered in bright, colorful animation. Viewers who enjoy the family friendly adventure of Avatar: The Last Airbender or the lively animal camaraderie of Jungle Cubs will find a comfortable match here. It suits young viewers and families looking for an easy, cheerful animated show.
