## Synopsis

Johnny Bravo (1997-2004) is an American animated comedy series created by Van Partible for Cartoon Network, produced with Hanna-Barbera Cartoons and Cartoon Network Studios. Johnny Bravo, a muscle-bound, bouffant-haired karate-chopping free spirit voiced by Jeff Bennett, believes he is a gift from God to the women of the earth. Each brisk seven-minute episode follows his pursuit of a romantic target, and his frequent failures come from his own vanity and clumsiness. Johnny lives under the roof of his doting mother Bunny (Brenda Vaccaro) and his stern stepfather figure Pops (Larry Drake), and he is constantly trailed by the nerdy neighbor Carl Chryniszzswics (Tom Kenny) and the spunky Little Suzy (Mae Whitman). Running four seasons across 181 episodes, the show is a series of self-contained cartoon sketches rather than one continuing story. Its tone is goofy, broad and sardonic, with a retro, parodic take on hypermasculinity. Fans of Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls and Ren & Stimpy will find resonance in its cartoon network humor and self-absorbed protagonist.
