## Synopsis

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (1994-1997) is a US Nickelodeon animated comedy series created by Gábor Csupó and Peter Gaffney. Three young monsters, Ickis (voiced by Charlie Adler), Oblina (voiced by Christine Cavanaugh) and Krumm (voiced by David Eccles), attend an institute for monsters hidden beneath a city dump. Their engine is simple and comic: they must learn to frighten humans, and they keep failing under the watchful eye of their menacing teacher, The Gromble (voiced by Gregg Berger). Each short episode is a self-contained lesson or scrape, with the trio stumbling through scares, pranks and gross-out mishaps while a hunter, Simon the Monster Hunter (voiced by Jim Belushi), keeps the monsters on edge. Across four seasons totaling 102 eleven-minute episodes, the series is episodic, bright and irreverent, with a grotesque cartoon look and a warm affection for its misfit heroes. Fans of Monsters, Inc., Rocko's Modern Life and Ren & Stimpy will find resonance in its gleeful weirdness and kid-friendly grossness.
