## Synopsis

Taken (2002) is an American science fiction miniseries created by Leslie Bohem for Syfy, produced by DreamWorks Television. Spanning 1944 to 2002, it follows three families bound to the Roswell crash: the Crawfords, who work to hide the wreckage and the existence of aliens, the Keys, who are repeatedly subjected to alien experimentation, and the Clarkes, who sheltered one of the surviving extraterrestrials. Dakota Fanning plays Allie Keys, a young member of the abducted family, while Matt Frewer plays Dr. Chet Wakeman and Joel Gretsch plays Owen Crawford, characters caught between secrecy and the truth. The engine of the story is the slow accumulation of generational consequences, as each family's choices ripple forward through the decades. Told across a single ten-episode run, the miniseries moves between eras with a non linear, parallel structure, stitching together wartime, postwar and modern threads. The tone is eerie, paranoid and melancholic, with a sense of dread tied to lost time and buried truths. Its atmosphere recalls the cold war secrecy of the era, while its family focus gives it an emotional weight. Fans of The X-Files and Roswell will find resonance in its blend of government conspiracy, alien mythology and domestic drama.
