## Synopsis

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (2004-2006) is a American animated comedy series created by Sam Register for Cartoon Network. Ami Onuki (voiced by Janice Kawaye) and Yumi Yoshimura (voiced by Grey DeLisle) are two Japanese American pop stars whose personalities clash: Ami is peppy, positive and resourceful, while Yumi is a hard-rocking, no-nonsense cynic with an unshakeable sense of cool. Their well-meaning but tragically square manager Kaz (voiced by Keone Young) keeps trying to steer their career, and his misjudgments often send their plans sideways. The engine of each short episode is simple: the duo travels the globe in their customized Puffy bus, a rolling condo with an ever-changing interior, taking on gigs and hanging out between shows. Running three seasons of roughly seven-minute episodes, the series is a light, bouncy kids show that mixes musical performance, trend-setting style and gentle humor. The register is cheerful and breezy, with friendship at its center. Fans of Kim Possible, Dexter's Laboratory and The Banana Splits Adventure Hour will find a similar kinship in its brisk, playful energy and its affection for pop music.
