## Synopsis

Wings (1990-1997) is an American NBC sitcom created by David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Clark Lee. Brothers Joe Hackett (Tim Daly) and Brian Hackett (Steven Weber) run a tiny commuter airline on the New England island of Nantucket, and the engine of the show is their constant struggle to keep planes flying and customers happy while their personalities keep colliding. Their dispatcher and friend Helen Chapel (Crystal Bernard) and the mechanic Lowell Mather (Thomas Haden Church) add to the chaos, along with the ticket agent Fay Cochran (Rebecca Schull) and the pilot Roy Biggins (David Schramm). Each episode is a self-contained comedy built from small crises, romantic misfires, and quarrels in a close-knit island community, so the show plays like a classic workplace sitcom with a lived-in, seaside feel. The tone is breezy, warm, and gently sardonic, with a steady stream of banter and running jokes. Fans of Cheers, Frasier, and Northern Exposure will find the same mix of ensemble humor and small-town affection. Across eight seasons on NBC, the series keeps its light, comfortable rhythm, making it an easy and reliable half-hour comedy to return to.
