## Synopsis

Hyperdrive (2006-2007) is a British science fiction sitcom created by Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley for BBC One. Across two seasons of twelve half-hour episodes, it follows the crew of the starship HMS Camden Lock, led by Commander Michael Henderson (Nick Frost), whose heroic mission to protect British interests in a changing galaxy keeps going sideways. Diplomatic Officer Chloe Alice Teal (Miranda Hart) and First Officer Eduardo Pauline York (Kevin Eldon) bring further awkwardness to the bridge, while Technical Officer Karl Jeffers (Dan Antopolski) and Navigator Dave Vine (Stephen Evans) provide the everyday comic friction. Each episode is built from small operational crises that snowball into embarrassment for the officers. The set-up is set in 2151 and 2152, and the tone is breezy, sardonic and gently absurd, with a warm affection for its flawed heroes. Fans of Red Dwarf and Galaxy Quest will find resonance in its mockery of earnest space adventure and its ensemble of incompetent officers.
