## Synopsis

Crest of the Stars (1999-2001) is a Japanese animated space opera series produced by Sunrise and broadcast on WOWOW Prime across three seasons and 36 episodes. Jinto Lin (voiced by Yuka Imai) watches his homeworld Martine fall to the Abh Empire without a single shot fired, and he is sent off to study Abh language and customs to prepare for a noble future he never wanted. His journey centers on Lafiel Abriel (voiced by Ayako Kawasumi), the first Abh he meets, who proves to be far more than she seems. Each season moves through training halls, diplomatic postings and military operations, with the narrator Haruhiko Jo guiding the viewer through the unfamiliar politics. The tone is contemplative and wistful, with war and genetic secrets shadowing a growing bond across species. Fans of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Macross and Vision of Escaflowne will find resonance in its blend of military scale, court intrigue and tender interspecies drama. The series is set in a distant interstellar future, a far-future generation of empires, fleets and alien worlds rendered through classic cel animation.
