## Synopsis

The Persuaders! (1971-1972) is a British television action comedy series created by Robert S. Baker and produced by ITC Entertainment for ITV1, a single-season run of 24 episodes. Tony Curtis plays Danny Wilde, a self-made American millionaire, while Roger Moore plays Lord Brett Sinclair, an English aristocrat, and the two are thrown together to tackle crime. Their partnership is the engine of the show: each mismatched pair of personalities must set aside rivalry to chase criminals across glamorous locations, with each episode built around a self-contained case that gives the pair room for sparring and banter. Supporting players such as Alfred Marks, Suzanna Leigh and Suzy Kendall appear in various episodes as allies, suspects and romantic interests. The show is set in the early 1970s and carries the sun-drenched, champagne-fuelled glamour of its era, with casinos, sports cars and resort hotels forming the backdrop. Its tone is breezy and playful, with light peril and a warm sense of fun. Fans of The Saint, The Avengers and Hart to Hart will find the same blend of suave leads, witty dialogue and jet-set crime adventure that defines this lighthearted classic.
