## Synopsis

Flikken Maastricht (2007-present) is a Dutch national-television police procedural series created by Reinout Oerlemans and broadcast on NPO 1. Former Amsterdam detective Floris Wolfs (Victor Reinier) is transferred to the police department of the south Dutch country town Maastricht, where he must learn the rhythms of a close-knit local force. He works alongside his female partner Eva van Dongen (Angela Schijf), and colleagues Marion Dreesen (Oda Spelbos) and Romeo Sanders (Sergio Romero IJssel) round out the core team. Each episode follows a fresh investigation, from thefts and assaults to more serious crimes, with the detectives using neighbourhood ties and local knowledge to crack cases the city cops might miss. The series runs as a long-running, case-of-the-week format across twenty seasons and 223 episodes, with the cast changing gradually over time. The tone is warm and grounded, with a familiar, comfortable rhythm, a sense of community in a provincial setting, and a gentle contrast between big-city habits and small-town life. Fans of Midsomer Murders, Beck and Baantjer will find the same appeal in its steady procedural rhythm and regional character, making it a dependable choice for viewers who enjoy long-running Dutch crime drama.
