## Synopsis

Heartbeat (1992-2010) is a British rural period drama series created by Keith Richardson and Gerry Mill for ITV1, produced by Yorkshire Television. Set in the fictional North Yorkshire village of Aidensfield during the 1960s, it follows the local police constables and the village doctors as they juggle petty crime, emergencies and the quiet dramas of country life. Across eighteen seasons and roughly 370 episodes, the show works as a standalone-episode format in which each hour brings a fresh case or medical problem against a steady backdrop of village characters and routines. The tone is warm, nostalgic and cozy, with gentle humour and a comforting sense of community that carries the stories through a long run. Fans of Midsomer Murders, Doc Martin and All Creatures Great and Small will find resonance in its blend of rural crime, country medicine and affectionate period atmosphere.
