## Synopsis

Super Mario World (1991) is an American animated kids action adventure series created for NBC and based on Nintendo's video game franchise. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Princess Toadstool band together on Dinosaur Island to thwart the schemes of King Koopa and his Koopa kids, with Mario voiced by Walker Boone, Luigi by Tony Rosato, Princess Toadstool by Tracey Moore and Yoshi by Andrew Sabiston. Each episode is a self-contained caper built from the same recognizable pieces: a plot hatched by a bumbling villain, a race across colorful terrain, and a clever rescue by the heroes. The series runs thirteen half-hour episodes, a single season, and is one continuing playground of cartoon mischief rather than a serialized drama. Its tone is breezy, cheerful and gently comic, with bright palettes and video game energy. Fans of The Legend of Zelda cartoon adaptations and Captain Planet and the Planeteers will find the same Saturday morning spirit of lighthearted adventure and friendly heroics. The show suits younger viewers and families looking for an easy, uncomplicated watch.
