## Synopsis

The Universe (2007-2015) is an American science documentary series broadcast on History and H2, produced by Flight 33 Productions and running nine seasons across 88 episodes of roughly 45 minutes each. Narrated and presented by Erik Thompson and David Ackroyd, with scientists and writers such as Michio Kaku, Alan Guth, and David Brin appearing as guides, the series follows a simple engine: each episode takes a question about the cosmos and works outward from the planets to the stars and beyond, mixing computer-generated visualizations with expert interviews and historical reconstructions. Rather than a dramatic plot, the show is built from self-contained topics such as the solar system, cosmology, astronomy, and the technology humanity has used to probe the sky. Its tone is wondrous and reverent, foregrounding the awe of scale and the strange, sometimes dangerous, physics of space and time. Viewers drawn to science documentaries, history of discovery, or the big-picture sweep of Cosmos and Planet Earth will find a familiar, accessible pleasure here, a patient tour of the universe that rewards curiosity more than sustained attention.
