## Synopsis

Roseanne is a United States multi-camera sitcom that follows the Conner family of Lanford, Illinois, through the daily strain of getting by on a blue collar income. Roseanne Barr plays a sharp-tongued working mother who meets workplace indignities, parenting clashes and money worries with wisecracks, while John Goodman anchors the household as her husband Dan. Their children and her sister Jackie crowd a single kitchen and living room, and nearly every episode turns ordinary friction into fast, blunt comedy. Beneath the irreverence runs a warm sincerity about loyalty, class and making a home work despite limited means. The tone is brash, unpolished and affectionate, with humor that refuses to flatter its characters or the audience. Fans of domestic comedies with a working class edge, such as The Middle or Married... with Children, will recognize its mix of chaos and affection for ordinary people. Its rooted setting and unvarnished style give the series a grounded texture across its long run, making it a comedy about getting by that never loses its heart.
