## Synopsis

Coupling (2000-2004) is a British-American co-produced sitcom created by Steven Moffat for BBC Two. Set in contemporary London, the show follows six friends in their thirties who navigate dating, sexual adventures and romantic mishaps in pursuit of love. Steve Taylor (Jack Davenport) and Jane Christie (Gina Bellman) anchor the group, with Susan Walker (Sarah Alexander), Sally Harper (Kate Isitt), Patrick Maitland (Ben Miles) and Jeff Murdoch (Richard Coyle) supplying the tangled pairings and rivalries. Each episode is a half hour built on rapid-fire dialogue, innuendo and the awkward fallout of who slept with whom, with the group repeatedly regrouping at the pub to dissect every failed date. Across four seasons and twenty-eight episodes, the series keeps a brisk, self-contained comic rhythm while its romantic tangles slowly accumulate. The tone is cheeky, frank and warmly cynical, a sharp take on modern London singles life. Fans of Friends, Sex and the City and Seinfeld will find resonance in its witty, dialogue-driven take on friendship and romantic chaos.
