## Synopsis

The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog (1998-1999) is an American live action children's fantasy adventure series created for FOX and Fox Kids, produced by Saban Entertainment. Four young knights, Rohan (Lochlann Ó Mearáin), Deirdre (Lisa Dwan), Angus (Vincent Walsh) and Ivar (Justin Pierre), defend their ancient homeland of Kells against the sorcery of the evil Queen Maeve (Charlotte Bradley), who wants to rule the island kingdom. Their engine is a simple and urgent quest: they must resist her dark magic, battle giants, ogres and other mythical creatures, and restore peace to the land. Each adventure is a self-contained episode of danger and wonder, with the knights discovering their mystic armor and their dragon ally Pyre along the way. The single season of fifty episodes unfolds in an invented Celtic-flavored realm that borrows from Irish legend, including the roguish little people of the enchanted underworld of Tir Na Nog. The tone is bright, earnest and breezy, with a heroic optimism suited to young viewers. Fans of Xena: Warrior Princess, Gargoyles and Dragon Tales will find a familiar appeal in its mix of swordplay, sorcery and mythic creatures.
