## Synopsis

Wild Russia (2008-2018) is a German-produced nature documentary series created for NDR Fernsehen and National Geographic. Narrated by Christian Brückner, the six-part original run, followed by a four-episode second season, travels across the vast country from east to west, moving through mountains, volcanoes, deserts, lakes and Arctic ice in search of its animals and natural wonders. Each episode is built around a region and its wildlife, with tigers, polar animals and Siberian landscapes shown through unprecedented access and carefully patient filming. The rhythm is unhurried and contemplative, letting the sheer scale of the terrain do much of the work, so the mood is awe-filled and wondrous rather than suspenseful. Its visual language rests on stunning cinematography that makes the country feel both enormous and untamed. Viewers who enjoy Planet Earth, Our Planet and Frozen Planet will find the same blend of natural history and grand landscape spectacle here, approached through a regional lens. The series suits relaxed family viewing and anyone drawn to documentary portraits of distant wild places.
