## Synopsis

Earth: Final Conflict (1997-2002) is a Canadian and American science fiction drama series created by Gene Roddenberry and broadcast on CTV and in syndication. Set in a near present day Earth, it follows Renee Palmer (Jayne Heitmeyer), a figure drawn into the uneasy relationship between humanity and the Taelons, a technologically advanced alien race that arrived offering friendship and advanced technology. Ronald Sandoval (Von Flores) anchors the human side of that arrangement, while Augur (Richard Chevolleau) and Juliet Street (Melinda Deines) carry the resistance movement that suspects the visitors have sinister motives. The engine of the show is suspicion: every treaty, gift and public appearance hides a question about whose interests are served, and each episode turns on intrigue, covert operations and shifting loyalties. Spanning five seasons and 110 episodes of serialized mythology, the series builds a slow-burning conspiracy with an earnest, politically charged tone. Its atmosphere is part paranoid thriller, part philosophical drama about coexistence and mistrust. Fans of V, The X-Files and Roswell will find resonance in its alien conspiracy plotting and its concern with power hidden behind benevolence.
