## Synopsis

Mike Hammer, Private Eye (1997-1998) is a American syndicated crime series created for national syndication, following Mike Hammer (Stacy Keach), a hardboiled private investigator who relies on savvy grit to unmask deceptive enemies across Southern California. Stacy Keach anchors the single season of twenty-six hour-long episodes, with Shannon Whirry as Velda, his loyal associate, supporting him through a steady run of cases. Each episode builds around a new client, a shady operator, or a tangled scheme, with Hammer pushing through lies, back alleys, and dangerous confrontations to reach the truth. The engine is simple and effective: a stubborn detective who refuses to be fooled and a criminal underworld that keeps trying to bury the evidence. Its tone is gritty, suspenseful, and tightly paced, with the moody atmosphere of classic private eye fiction shaping its urban nights and rainy streets. Fans of Magnum, P.I. and Peter Gunn will find a similar appeal in its tough, self-reliant investigator and its pulpy, case-driven storytelling. Its single season makes it an easy one to finish, a stylish throwback for viewers who love detective stories with a hard edge.
