## Synopsis

BeastMaster (1999-2002) is a United States, Canadian and Australian co-production fantasy adventure series created by Andre Norton and distributed through first-run syndication. Daniel Goddard plays Dar, the last surviving male of the storied Sula tribe, who can speak telepathically with animals and fights with the strength and skill of a great warrior. Jackson Raine co-stars as Tao, and Monika Schnarre and Dylan Bierk take turns as the scheming Sorceress, a recurring antagonist whose dark magic threatens the innocent. Across three seasons and sixty-six episodes, the show moves through self-contained adventures in which Dar and his companions travel an ancient, mythic world, rescuing creatures and ordinary people from sorcery and brutal rulers. Each episode is built around a concrete threat and a rescue, giving the series a brisk, episodic rhythm. Its tone is earnest, sincere and adventurous, with a warm, sometimes campy heroism and a family-friendly sense of wonder. Fans of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker will find a similar kinship in its sword and sorcery spirit and lone-hero mythology.
