## Synopsis

The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries (1977-1979) is a American teen detective adventure series broadcast on ABC across three seasons and 46 episodes. Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy star as amateur sleuth brothers Frank and Joe Hardy, while Pamela Sue Martin plays girl detective Nancy Drew. Rather than keeping all three leads together, the show often gives each one their own episodes, so some stories follow only the brothers and others follow only Nancy. The engine is simple and playful: young investigators chase a puzzle, interview suspicious locals, and uncover a culprit through quick wits and small clues, with a sheriff character occasionally drawn in. Each episode is a self-contained case, giving the series a case-of-the-week shape that suits a casual viewer. The tone stays wholesome, breezy, and adventurous, with light peril rather than menace, making it a comforting family watch. Set in a contemporary 1970s America, it feels like a period time capsule of late-seventies television. Fans of the Nancy Drew film adaptation, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and Murder, She Wrote will find a similar appeal in its amateur detectives and gentle mystery-solving.
