## Synopsis

The Riches (2007-2008) is a American dark comedy drama series created by Dmitry Lipkin for FX. Wayne Malloy (Eddie Izzard) leads a family of itinerant grifters who assume the identity of an upper-middle-class suburban clan in the Deep South, and the engine of the show is the constant effort to keep that borrowed life intact. Dahlia Malloy (Minnie Driver) keeps the household running while her children, Di Di (Shannon Woodward), Cael (Noel Fisher) and Sam (Aidan Mitchell), each carry pieces of the deception, and Dale (Todd Stashwick) adds further pressure. Opposite them stand neighbors and suspicious locals such as Hugh Panetta (Gregg Henry) and Nina Burns (Margo Martindale), whose scrutiny threatens every cover story. The series runs across two seasons and twenty episodes, and each episode is built from a fresh con, a near miss, and a domestic crisis that tests the family's loyalty. Set in the present-day American South, it moves between wry satire of suburban respectability and a rougher, more desperate sense of a family living on borrowed time. Fans of Breaking Bad, Weeds and Dirty Sexy Money will find resonance in its mix of crime, comedy and fractured family intimacy.
