## Synopsis

Veep (2012-2019) is an American political satire series created by Armando Iannucci for HBO. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as former senator Selina Meyer, an ambitious and vain politician who finds the vice presidency far more humiliating and powerless than she expected. Her long-suffering staff, including aide Amy Brookheimer (Anna Chlumsky), fixer Gary Walsh (Tony Hale), and communications director Mike McLintock (Matt Walsh), scramble to keep her image intact while rivals and colleagues maneuver for advantage. Each season is a continuing story built from crisis-driven workplace chaos, failed negotiations, press blunders and endless backroom scheming, running seven seasons in all. The tone is caustic, fast and profane, with cringe-inducing humor and a bleakly comic view of Washington careerism. Fans of The Thick of It and Yes Minister will find the same razor-sharp satire of political vanity and bureaucratic incompetence, delivered with an ensemble that sustains a crackling, relentless rhythm across the entire run.
