## Synopsis

Brigada (2002) is a Russian crime drama series created for Russia-1 and told in a single fifteen-episode season. Four childhood friends, led by Alexander Belov (Sergey Bezrukov) and Kos (Dmitriy Dyuzhev) alongside Fil (Vladimir Vdovichenkov) and Pchela (Pavel Maykov), start a business together and find themselves at the core of a powerful Moscow gang after an unplanned killing. The engine of the story is loyalty tested by violence: the friends must keep their bond intact while every deal, debt and rival pushes them deeper into the underworld. Each episode builds the tension of a criminal organization expanding its reach through turf, money and fear. Set in a lawless post-Soviet Moscow, the series carries a gritty, morally grey register, with a bleak atmosphere of street violence and institutional rot. Its brotherhood drama and gang-war momentum will resonate with fans of Peaky Blinders and Goodfellas, and viewers who enjoy the criminal milieu of The Sopranos will find a similar pull. The series rewards attention and works best as a single, continuous arc of ambition and consequence.
