## Synopsis

MXC (2003-2007) is an American cable comedy created for Spike, a parody built from re-edited footage of the Japanese game show Takeshi's Castle. Its engine is simple: the original contestants tackle absurd obstacle courses and stunts, and the new voice track treats each attempt as a high-stakes extreme sports event, with overwrought announcers and invented commentary turning failure into spectacle. Episodes are self-contained, so the show plays as a case of the week of challenges rather than one continuing story. Across five seasons and 81 episodes, the show leans on dubbed narration and deadpan escalation to mock the pomp of televised competition. Its tone is breezy, irreverent and goofy, and fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Jackass will find a similar affection for mocking unlikely footage. Takeshi Kitano appears in the source material that the new voice cast sends up.
