## Synopsis

The Amazing Race is an American reality competition series created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri for CBS. Teams of two travel around the globe, racing toward a final destination where the winning pair takes home a prize. Host Phil Keoghan guides the contestants from one location to the next, and each leg unfolds through a mix of mental and physical challenges that must be completed before the teams learn where to go next. Contestants who fall furthest behind are gradually eliminated as the route tightens, so every episode turns on speed, navigation, teamwork and nerve under pressure. Across many seasons the format has taken teams through foreign cities, deserts, mountains and crowded markets, with each new leg bringing unfamiliar customs and tight deadlines. The mood is brisk and sunny, with plenty of tension at the mats and detour choices, and the travel-tour energy of an adventure documentary. Fans of Survivor, Big Brother and The Mole who enjoy competitive structure and pairs under strain will find resonance here.
